The exit sequence
Defeat the map boss. The normal wave objective gives way to the post-boss survival phase.
Look for the gold EXTRACT marker and the glowing portal. The marker can appear before you are close enough to interact.
Move toward it while avoiding ghosts and map hazards. Preserve a route into the portal instead of letting enemies surround it.
At close range, use the Extract prompt. The tutorial recording shows E on PC; follow the current action prompt on other devices.
Check that you have returned to the lobby. That return is the visible end of the observed extraction sequence.
What staying longer puts at risk
The post-boss UI shows SURVIVAL BONUS and warns that the bonus can be lost until you bank it. The official game description says longer survival raises the Gold you can take out, while the ghosts make staying increasingly risky.
This is a decision about unbanked run earnings. The available evidence does not show extraction failure deleting Gold already saved in your account. It also does not establish a universal Gold-per-second rate.
Bank now or stay longer?

Fast-forward advances the danger too
The post-boss screen includes +20s FAST FORWARD and an Auto toggle. The nearby warning says the swarm advances with you. Treat the control as advancing the situation, not as a safe way to skip straight to free rewards.
The inspected frames do not establish its full cost, an optimal duration or a guaranteed payout. Do not use an assumed bonus formula to justify a riskier stay.
Turn the return into the next improvement
Once back in the lobby, claim completed quests, check available chests and equip what you intend to use. If ghosts ended your last attempt, plan the exit earlier on the next one. If you struggled to reach the boss at all, inspect the build and permanent upgrades.
